Day 1 : Sai Gon – My Tho – Cai Be (L,D) ~ 20km of cycling

We travel two hours from Saigon to My Tho where we board our boat. Late morning finds us drifting down bustling arteries of the Mekong from where we veer off to travel down the tranquil canals. Our sightseeing on the island includes a visit to a traditional Mekong Delta Vietnamese house and its kitchen, where we sample seasonal fruit along with tea and honey and even local wine. We then walk to the village’s boat landing where we board small sampans and paddle along narrow arroyos (waterways). See boat paddling here We will break for lunch at a local restaurant. Following lunch, we enjoy a leisurely, two-hour afternoon bicycle ride along a narrow dirt road during which we traverse bridges and pass through local farms. Arriving in Cai Be, we board a boat to the floating market and enjoy a delicious dinner of Mekong specialties with your welcoming hosts. OVERNIGHT AT HOMESTAY

Cycling in Mekong

Day 2 : Cai Be – Vinh Long – Can Tho (B,L,D) ~ 40km of cycling

From the nearby town of Vinh Long, we enjoy a boat journey out to one of the Mekong Islands and into the Heart of the Delta. We then have a ride toward Can Tho. While our exact route will vary (depending on our group’s cycling abilities), you can expect to pass through villages (with brick kiln and terracotta roofs), past rice fields, picturesque delta homes, witness colorful life along the riverside and by innumerable rural riverside villages. We will break for lunch at a local restaurant. Late afternoon will be reserved for promenading production along the city quay or, if time permits, yet more cycling along riverside to Can Tho. OVERNIGHT IN CAN THO

Day 3 : Cai Rang floating market– Sai Gon (B,L) ~ 30km of cycling

After breakfast, hop on your bike and weave through roads teeming with early morning market bustle along the banks of an active riverfront. Ride on a narrow paved road to the Cai Rang floating market. Absorb the sights of endless cottage industries, timber merchants, small docks loading rice on to boats, and tiny vibrant markets. Continue by bike on the narrow lane and loop around back to the main road. After lunch, return to the hotel to check out and transfer back to your hotel in Sai Gon. Biking has to be the ultimate way to explore all of destinations. There is no better way to get close to people in the countryside or to take in the extraordinary sights, sounds .Great guides but also great biking enthusiasts equally knowledgeable in bike maintenance as they are in the culture, history and geography of the country.
