"A touch of north" is designed for holiday makers who have a short time but wish to do some brief sightseeing in North of Vietnam - including a great rail journey to Sapa, the magnificent scenery in Halong Bay. The great value that trip offers is an opportunity to see authentic images of everyday life peculiar to rural in North of Vietnam.

Detail Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi – Sapa (-, L, D)
Arrive at Noi Bai airport. Pick up and then transfer to a hotel. An afternoon tour of Hanoi, visit The Temple of Literature, One Pillar Pagoda, Tran Quoc Pagoda then take a cyclo to explore the Old Quarter (1 hour). In the evening, transfer to railway station and take the night train to Sapa. O/N on train.
Day 2: Sapa (B, L, D)
Arrive at Lao Cai railway station. Pick up and transfer to Sapa (38km). Check in hotel and have breakfast. After lunch, trekking to visit Cat Cat Village. Visit the H’Mong people, the Hydroelectric power station and Silver waterfall. O/N in Sapa.
Day 3: Sapa(7 hours trekking – 17 km – 3 villages) (B, L, D)
A full day exploring Sapa, visit Lao Chai and Ta Van village. Explore the daily life of H’Mong and Dzay minorities. Continue to visit Giang Ta Chai village, a small waterfall and a rattan bridge. Lunch at local home. O/N in Sapa.
Day 4: Sapa – Lao Cai (B, L, D)
In the morning at leisure for personal pursuit: exploring Sapa town or relaxing. Around 15h30 transfer to Lao Cai railway station. Have diner in Lao Cai. Then take the night train to Hanoi. O/N on train.
Day 5: Hanoi – Halong (B, L, D)
Pick up at Hanoi railway station early in the morning and transfer to a hotel for shower and have breakfast. Then transfer to Halong (170km). Stop over at ceramic and hand embroidery workshops in Hai Duong. Arrive in Halong Bay. Board a boat for a cruise in Halong Bay. Visit magical grottoes, marvel at odd - shaped islands and relax in the best scenic beauty of Vietnam: Sung Sot Cave, Titop Beach, the fish - farm. Stop for a swim and kayak ride. Lunch and Diner of fresh seafood are served on boat. O/N on boat.
Day 6: Halong – Ninh Binh (B, L, D)
Early morning, enjoy a sunrise cruise in the breathtaking scenery of Halong Bay. Continue to cruise to Soi Sim Beach. Stop for a swim and kayak ride. Then visit Ga Choi and Dinh Huong Island, Cho Da islet. After lunch at restaurant in Halong, transfer to Ninh Binh. On the way to Ninh Binh, visit Keo Pagoda. O/N in Ninh Binh.
Day 7: Ninh Binh – Hanoi (B, L, D)
After breakfast at your hotel, visit ancient Citadel of Hoa Lu. Visit the Dinh & Le dynasty temples, an ancient capital of Vietnam (968 - 1009). Then transfer to Kenh Ga hotspring, take a boat on the Hoang Long River for visiting Van Trinh Cave. Return to Hanoi. The evening, enjoy Hanoi is famed water puppet. O/N in Hanoi.
Day 8: Departure from Hanoi (B, L,-)
Tour ends today, spend last time shopping or at leisure before check – out. Transfer to the Noi Bai airport for departure.

So beautiful place! I am considering travelling there next year. Is there any time of the year when it is more convenient to visit the place?
