As we reported, Beta 5 of iOS 5 was released two weeks ago and those who don’t know, it can already be jailbroken. iOS 5 Beta 5 could only be jailbroken by using RedSn0w but the people who often use Sn0wbreeze, we have got a great news for you. The updated version of Sn0wbreeze is released today, so you now you can jailbreak your iPhone having iOS 5 Beta 5 with Sn0wbreeze too.
The latest version of Sn0wbreeze is 2.8 Beta 5. It was announced by its creator iH8sn0w today on Pastie. Pastie is a site which is often used by developers to share codes with each other and sometimes plain texts are also exchanged. Of course the main feature of this 2.8 Beta 5 version is to Jailbreak iOS 5 Beta 5, which could only be done by RedSn0w previously. Well many people like Sn0wbreeze over the RedSn0w, because it has some features which are not in Redsn0w. You can save or create custom IPSW firmware files. You can also change the boot screen logo. In Redsn0w you have to repeat this procedure again and again unlike the Sn0wbreeze.
If you receive a modified IPSW file, then you can easily restore it on your device with iTunes having your device in DFU mode. You can find all the instructions in the detailed guides on the tool. So you can simply use the new iOS 5 only where necessary.
About this jailbreak, it is a tethered jailbreak, so that means if you lose your power or restart your iPhone, you will have to plug it to your PC to turn it on again. You also have to use iBooty which comes with the Sn0wbreeze package every time you turn on your phone. This tethered version is only the best way possible to jailbreak your phone and no other method will be available until the release of the final version of iOS 5 at the end of this year.
